We offer a wide and exclusive range of custom-made blockout roller blinds from a variety of fabric manufacturers world-wide. Blockout blinds are a popular and effective window furnishing that offers maximum darkness in rooms where it’s needed most. Roller blinds are a practical and stylish alternative to curtains or shutters for your windows and work equally well in a home or an office setting. Not only can block-out blinds be used independently but they are commonly used in conjunction with sheer curtains on a single window to give a modern feel and provide the added benefit of saving space.
Because blockouts are a very versatile window dressing, they are very often used in areas of the home where you are looking for maximum darkness or heat blockout from the sun; namely bedrooms, studies, lounge rooms, home offices and media rooms.
It’s not difficult to see why people love them; blockout roller blinds are easy to install and require very little on-going maintenance when compared to blinds such as venetians. Other benefits with Marlow blinds include their durability, ease of cleaning and the simplicity of converting them from manual to automatic… even years later!
All of our blockout blinds are manufactured right here in Sydney. We pride ourselves on sourcing only the best Australian made products whenever possible and work hard to maintain our high standards of quality.
We have over 50 different fabric types and over 500 patterns and colours from some of Australia’s best-known manufacturers such as Shaw, Mermet & Wilson Fabrics – we stock to suit all styles and tastes.
Marlow and Finch’s custom-made blockout blinds are laser-measured and manufactured to the exact measurements of our customers’ windows; therefore, we manufacture any size ranging from 400mm to 3200mm wide and generally up to 4000mm in drop.
Occasionally customers will have windows that are larger than those mentioned above. In those cases, our qualified installers will provide advice on how best to solve this.
Roller blinds can be measured in two ways; either to fit inside your window opening to provide a snug fit along the sides of the window and reduce the amount of light entering through, or they can be measured to hang over the front of the window to cover the opening.
Our consultants will also advise on the “roll” of the blind; front or back. However, unless there is an obvious technical reason like avoiding a door handle, in most cases it will be down to a customer’s personal aesthetic preference
Front Roll
Front rolled means that your blinds will be rolled from the back to the front and that the drop of the fabric will be the furthest it can be from the window.
All Marlow & Finch blinds come with stainless steel chains as standard. However, the upgrade or retro-fit automation options are simple; all blinds can be replaced with a motor for easy automation so that you can command your blinds at the touch of a button. Our remote controls can manage up to 15 roller window blinds simultaneously and, generally required only a few times a year, the blind motors themselves can be charged as easily as your mobile phone.
Our extensive range of electric motors can be configured to work with any pre-existing home automation system – including popular systems like C-Bus, Control4, Philips & Fibaro.
The Marlow & Finch free quote and design service is something that we not only pride ourselves on but continually strive to make it our differentiator. This personal service is crucial to getting the correct result in every environment; as such our staff have dedicated budgets for research, training and design events nationally to ensure we are always at the forefront of the industry.
